Ok so it doesn’t beat this in terms of amusement factor but Jonathan Schwartz CEO, or more accurately former CEO of Sun Microsystems set the whole twitterverse ablaze by announcing his resignation through a haiku on Twitter.
It read “Today’s my last day at Sun. I’ll miss it. Seems only fitting to end on a #haiku. Financial crisis/Stalled too many customers/CEO no more”.
It was no secret he was due to resign after the sale of Sun to Oracle but the public way in which he did it deserves kudos.
However Schwartz isn’t the first to announce big news, or at least hint at it, in 140 characters or less. Jonathan Ross recently prefaced an official statement announcing he would quit the BBC with a teaser tweet “My day is turning out to be far more interesting then I had anticipated!”, whilst X-Factor judge and singer Dannii Minogue used Twitter to announce she was pregnant.
Is there no end to the things that can be done through Twitter?
