Facebook launches the “e-mail reply”

Facebook has announced a surprising new feature, allowing users to reply to notifications via email.
Just activate email notifications in your Facebook settings and then whenever you receive a comment or wall post you’ll be able to reply directly from your emails rather than having to log in to Facebook. It’s definitely a useful feature for users, but how will it impact Facebooks unique views? And will we see a decline in people actually logging on to the site?

With Twitter figures showing it’s been flatlining for a while it’s no wonder there’s suggestion that it’s the beginning of the end for these sites, but perhaps it’s actually just time we start analyzing site traffic and use differently, taking into account the many apps available to users and the different ways users can interact with these sites now.
