Tesco reap the rewards

Tesco have annouced an increase in online sales for Q1 and Q2 of this year, up 11% to £1bn.


Over one million customers used Tesco’s online grocery service during the first half of the year and there are now plans to release an online higher-value clothing range, aimed at those customers that live too far away from one of the larger stores.

Profits at Tesco’s online retail business, which includes grocery sales and Tesco Direct, rose 21% to £58m, and Tesco Direct which covers internet and catologue sales rose 29%

All appears rosey for Tesco’s as the supermarket’s financial service, Tesco Bank, saw profits up 11% to £221 on sales of £1.7bn.
