Lady Gaga’s viral videos pass one billion views

Viral videos today can be spread out so easily and fast, it’s amazing. Sometimes artist don’t even have to use TV anymore to reach people, the web is enough and maybe even better.
That’s what is happening with Lady Gaga, she just became the first artist to surpass one billion online video views with her three most popular videos, ‘Poker Face’ with 375 million views, ‘Bad Romance’ with 360 million views and ‘Just Dance’ with 273 million views. And with her last video release ‘Telephone’ featuring Beyonce, it was only release on the web on Vevo first and the impact was huge.

A lot of videos have become viral and some are still talked about like Susan Boyle’s famous tear-jerker song on Britain’s version of American Idol.
Using the web is maybe today’s best way to get known!

DIY star from China gets web attention!

This is the new wave going on the web right now.
It’s all about a DIY chinese singer pop star, Pixie Tea, real name Zhang Xuanyan who created a catchy electro-bubblegum pop tune out of various bleeps, strums from her iPhone. She used apps like Drum-Meister, iDrum, Bassist, iShred or NESynth. And with all the sounds made with MakeMusic apps she created quite an impressive song, ‘ABCD Said’. The video of her singing her track while dancing in her room has been seen online over more than 1 million people. Bloggers are already urging Apple to sign her up for advertising campaigns.
It’s pretty good, maybe too good to be true since people are starting to think that this might be to professional to have been done randomly.

Viral video leads to Grammy performance

Performing at the Grammys is a dream for many, however I doubt Butch Walker expected his cover of Taylor Swifts hit tune “You Belong With Me” to land him a spot alongside the songstress at this years event.

It seems that back in November, Butch, who was originally in the rock band Marvelous 3, decided to record a cover version of the hit song after asking his Twitter fans for suggestions.

The musician then created a “making of” video — complete with pee breaks and subtitles — which became such a huge hit that in a just two days Taylor Swift caught wind of the cover and tweeted enthusiastically, “@butchwalker covered You Belong With Me and I’m losing my MIND listening to it! Blown away.”

This just goes to show the extent of social media’s ability to both bring people together and to foster creativity.
